Ambassador KITAOKA visited “Pipedrive”, expanding business all over the world by its CRM software

2021/3/23
On 23rd March, Ambassador KITAOKA visited “Pipedrive”, one of the leading Estonian companies, expanding business by its software for CRM (Customer Relationship Management) in 179 countries, holding about 100 thousand clients.
He was escorted by two Embassy staff, Mr. Tomoya SHIGENARI, a Second Secretary in charge of economic affairs and Mr. Hiroshi TAKENAKA, Researcher.

The Ambassador was welcomed by Ms. Helis HÄMARSALU, branding specialist.
The visit started with a guided tour of the 9-storied office building, equipped with a hall with a stage, sauna, and each story is beautifully designed, based on a different concept like music, nature, films, IT and so on.
Futuristic atmosphere is there in that building, which could be called very much Estonian!
It was followed by the briefing given by Mr. Arho ANTTILA, General Manager in Asia & Africa, on the history of the company, the characteristics of its software which “Pipedrive” is very much proud of, its relationship with Japan etc.
The briefing was also attended by Mr. Enrico SARNET, Mr. Giuseppe ZENONE, and Ms. Maie-Liisa SILDNIK.
“Pipedrive” was founded by Mr. Timo REIN together with his colleagues.
Mr. REIN brought back his experience of sales in the USA to his home country Estonia, which recovered her independence after the fall of the Soviet Union.
Based on his motto “you can’t control results, but you can control the actions that drive towards completion”, “Pipedrive” ’s CRM software was developed.
It has been developed not from the viewpoint of the managers, but only for being friendly with the sales persons, who actually sell things in markets.
Their software was very impressive for the Ambassador, who felt, from the software, Estonia herself, where the society or organizations are not “vertical” based on manager-staff relationship, but each staff makes contribution equally in “horizontal” manner.
In the Japanese market, the number of clients has become 5 times as big as 5 years ago, despite the spread of COVID19.
Their success in Japan made the Ambassador very much pleased!

The visit finished in a friendly manner with the exchanges of presents and a photo session.

Ambassador, hereby, would like to express his most sincere gratitude to “Pipedrive” for accepting him with his colleagues in such a difficult situation with COVID19!
