Ambassador Matsumura paid a courtesy call on the President of the Riigikogu, Jüri Ratas

On 30th November, Ambassador Matsumura paid a courtesy call on the President of the Riigikogu, Jüri Ratas as the new Ambassador of Japan. They exchanged views on how to further strengthen bilateral relations in the future, reviewing the friendly relations between Estonia and Japan that have been established to date.
 
The Ambassador thanked the President for his efforts to strengthen bilateral relations, including during his tenure as Prime Minister, and pointed out the momentum of the 100 Years of Friendship between Estonia and Japan as well as the importance of strengthening economic exchanges. In response, the President welcomed the Ambassador’s arrival and expressed his expectations for strengthening cooperative relations in the fields such as economy, education, academia, culture, and local partnership, sharing some episodes from his visits to Japan.
