On October 21, Ambassador NAKAMURA Koichiro and Mrs. NAKAMURA hosted Mr. Olavi Seisonen, Mayor of Haapsalu City, and Mrs. Liis Seisonen at the residence for an exchange of views.
The Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the Mayor and his wife for attending the opening ceremony of the Japanese cultural festival "Momiji – Japanese Autumn in Estonia 2026" on September 8, and for their cooperation in holding "Momiji" events—such as Japanese film screenings—in the city of Haapsalu. They also discussed ways to revitalize exchanges with Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture—a "friendship city" of Haapsalu—as well as collaboration on Japan-related events and the promotion of bilateral exchange through tourism.
The Embassy remains committed to further strengthening the ties between Japan and Haapsalu City.
