Ambassador NAKAMURA exchanged views with Ms. Pakosta, Minister of Justice and Digital Affairs

On June 15, Ambassador NAKAMURA Koichiro hosted H.E. Liisa-Ly Pakosta, Minister of Justice and Digital Affairs at the Residence and exchanged views on the results of the Minister's visit to Japan on April and the possibilities for deepening cooperation between Japan and Estonia in various kinds of sectors including the digital and cybersecurity sectors based on those results.
Minister Pakosta visited Japan between April 26 and May 1, participating in SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026. She also met with her counterpart, Mr. MATSUMOTO Hisashi, Minister for Digital Transformation of Japan, to exchange views on cooperation between Japan and Estonia. In this meeting, a new Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) in the digital field was exchanged between the Digital Agency of Japan and the Ministry of Justice and Digital Affairs of the Republic of Estonia. This visit was important for the development of bilateral cooperation in this field.
