Read Japan Project Book Donation Ceremony at the Academic Library of Tallinn University
2026/5/7
On May 7, Counsellor MIYATA Kenji visited the Academic Library of Tallinn University, which received a donation of 17 Japan-related books through the Tokyo Foundation's "Read Japan Project." He attended the book donation ceremony alongside the Director of the Academic Library, Mr. Andres Kollist. Students from the university’s "Japanese Club" also participated in the ceremony.
The project aims to promote understanding of Japan among opinion leaders and intellectuals—including those who do not specialize in Japanese language or Japanese studies—by donating English-language books about Japan to educational and research institutions worldwide.
Following the ceremony, Counsellor MIYATA toured the library’s facilities, including the book digitization process and the archives housing approximately 2.5 million volumes, guided by Head of Department, Mr. Hendrik Saadi, further deepening his understanding of the library's extensive activities.
