Ambassador NAKAMURA Exchanges Views with Chairman Mihkelson and Members of the Foreign Affairs Committee

On April 14, Ambassador NAKAMURA Koichiro hosted Chairman Marko Mihkelson of the Foreign Affairs Committee, along with Members of the Riigikogu Henn Põlluaas, Eerik-Niiles Kross, and Ester Karuse, at the Official Residence for an exchange of views.
Chairman Mihkelson and his delegation had visited Japan from April 1 to 3, during which they held meaningful discussions with State Minister for Foreign Affairs KUNIMITSU Ayano, KOKUBA Konosuke, Chairman of the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee, SATOMI Ryuji, Chairman of the House of Councillors Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, members of the Japan-Estonia Parliamentary Friendship League, the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, the University of Tokyo, and the National Institute for Defense Studies. These discussions focused on the inseparability of security in the Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific regions, including Ukraine.
During this meeting with the Ambassador Nakamura, the delegation shared the outcomes of their first visit to Japan in 15 years as the Foreign Affairs Committee, and both sides exchanged views broadly on bilateral relations and the international situation. This visit by the Foreign Affairs Committee is considered highly significant and important for the development of Japan-Estonia relations.
