Ambassador NAKAMURA's Official Visit to Haapsalu City

On January 13, Ambassador NAKAMURA Koichiro officially visited Haapsalu City in northwestern Estonia and paid a courtesy call to Mayor Olavi Seisonen. The Ambassador and the Mayor exchanged views on enhancing the relationship between Haapsalu and Kaga City in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan, which has been a sister city. They discussed promoting local government exchanges as well as cultural and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Kaga City in Ishikawa Prefecture and Haapsalu City signed a memorandum of friendship and exchange in November 2019, and in October 2023, the mayors of both cities signed a sister city agreement.
