Ambassador NAKAMURA and Mrs. NAKAMURA attend Opening Ceremony of Ikebana Exhibition "A Walk in the Autumn Garden"

On September 25, Ambassador NAKAMURA Koichiro and his wife attended the opening ceremony for the Ikebana Exhibition, "A Walk in the Autumn Garden," held at the Kadriorg Park Orangerie and hosted by the Estonia-Japan Association until Sunday, the 28th. They viewed the magnificent Ikebana works by Estonian artists and, accompanied by Ms. Pille Sõstra, Director of the Kadriorg Park, were briefed on the history of Ikebana in Estonia, which dates back to the 1970s, by Mr. Heikki Vallaste, President of the Estonia-Japan Association and the first Chargé d'Affaires of Estonia to Japan.
Ikebana, the traditional Japanese art of flower arrangement, has its origins in the 7th century and is said to have been established towards the end of the 14th century.
