Ambassador Matsumura visited Rakvere.

On October 7, Ambassador Matsumura visited Rakvere and held a meeting with the mayor, Ms. Triin Varek and the chairman of the city council Mr. Mihkel Juhkami.
After the mayor explained that Rakvere is the birthplace of the composer Mr. Arvo Pärt and is a cultural city with various artistic events, they held discussions on various topics such as education, tourism, and regional cooperation, including possibilities of cooperation between Japan and Rakvere.
After the meeting, Ambassador Matsumura participated in the opening ceremony of the EU Sumo Championship and delivered an opening speech. In the speech, Ambassador Matsumura expressed his happiness that Japanese national sport sumo is spreading around the world, and his hope for its further development in the future.
