レール・バルティック,リスク分析の政府調達の発表
Rail Baltic announced a procurement for risk analysis. Rail Baltic Estonia has announced a risk analysis procurement with a goal to define risks connected to preparing for the construction of the Rail Baltic European-gauge railroad and measures for reducing these. 2016年平均賃金:+76
Estonia’s average wage increased by 7.6%. According to Statistics Estonia, the average wage increased by 7.6% in 2016 compared to 2015 to 1146 euros. Average salary increased the most in administrative and support service activities (16%) and real estate activities (14%). ICT is still leading in the wage growth table, as the average salary in the sector increased from 1724 euros to 1900 euros. (Äripäev, Page 4, March 1, 2017)

Estonian roots led to a plan to build a LNG terminal. The Mõntu (Saaremaa) LNG project of the company LNG Gorskaya, which is led by Kirill Lääts, is the newest and the least known compared to Alexela’s Paldiski LNG project and Vopak’s Muuga LNG project. According to Lääts, the project would pay off in 6 years with the help of the EU, and in 11 years without the help of the EU. The floating LNG terminal would have a capacity of 5000 cubic meters. Estonia ranks 9th in EU digital economy index. According to the data recently released by the European Commission, Estonia ranks 9th in the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) 2017. The number of car sales is increasing in Estonia. In February, 1611 new cars were sold in Estonia, which is 0.7% fewer than in February 2016. However, the sales of utility vehicles (410 units sold) increased by 8.5% compared to February 2016. The list was topped by Toyota with 218 new cars sold, followed by Skoda (187) and Renault (151). 4四半期GDP成長率,EUで最高
Estonia’s economic growth was the quickest in the EU. In the 4th quarter of 2016, the average GDP growth in the EU totaled 0.5% compared to the previous quarter. The growth was 0.4% in the Eurozone. Compared to previous quarter, GDP grew the most in Estonia with 1.9%, followed by 1.7% in Poland and 1.4% in Lithuania, according to Eurostat. (Postimees, Page 10, March 8, 2017)

Maag Group took over dairy producer Tere’s debts. Dairy producing concern Maag Group announced yesterday that it has assumed the debts of Tere and will present a notice of consolidation to the competition board in the coming days. Margit Talts, who served as CEO of Maag Group until 2016, became the new CEO of Tere. CEO of Valio Maido Sovoljov says that they are glad that this process is finally being solved and according to CEO of E-Piim Jaanus Murakas, this is good news as it helps to restore trust in the dairy sector. Estonian wood export reached to almost 2 billion euros last year. In 2016, Estonian wood exporters exported 1.9 billion euros worth of products, which is almost 5% more than in 2015. (Postimees, Page 10, March 13, 2017)
 
チケット販売システム開発企業,ノルウェー企業と提携
Estonian ticket sales technology will expand to Norway. Scandinavia’s biggest bus operator Nettbuss will buy 15% of the Estonian company T solutions OÜ that develops international ticket sales software. This will also mean that Nettbuss will start using these systems in its express routes in Norway and Sweden. Chairman of the Supervisory Board of T solutions OÜ Andres Osula didn’t reveal the price of the deal but said that it’s a 7-digit number. Chief of Nettbuss Travel Stale Nistov said: “We’re convinced that partnership with T solutions will give us access to the most innovative technology and the best know-how in this field.”(Postimees, Page 12, March 13, 2017)

Owners and executives of package robot producer Cleveron and electronic store ON24, Arno Kütt and Peep Kuld, were named entrepreneurs of the year at EY Estonia Entrepreneur of the year award ceremony. Start-ups attracted record amount of investments last year. Estonian start-ups last year attracted a record 102.5 million euros of investments. The average deal size of the 40 deals recorded in 2016 was 2.5 million euros. (Äripäev, Page 2, March 14, 2017)

Agricultural exports decreased. Estonian agricultural exports fell 8% in 2016. Estonia exported 1.1 billion euros' worth of agricultural and food products last year, including 778 million euros in food products of Estonian origin. Manufacturing industry lacks smart employees. A study by Swedbank reveals that labor shortage impedes the development of almost half of Estonia’s businesses in manufacturing industry sector. There is a lack of craftsmen who would be able to work with numerically controlled machine tools individually. Therefore, entrepreneurs are looking more and more towards abroad when searching for craftsmen. According to the head of industry department at Swedbank Raul Kirsimäe, one of the main problems of Estonia’s manufacturing industry is a too low added value: 23 000 euros per employee, which is at the same level with Latvia and significantly lower compared to Lithuania (32 000 euros per employee). Estonia is placed at 24th-25th place in the EU in terms of added value created by an employee in manufacturing industry. (Äripäev, Page 9, March 15, 2017)

Norwegian experts: Tallinn-Helsinki tunnel could be built in five years. According to Finnish newspaper Helsinkin Sanomat, the base underneath the Gulf of Finland is suitable for construction, as the base consists mainly of granite and gneiss and Finns have experience working with a bedrock like this. According to a Norwegian boring company, it would be technically possible to build the tunnel in five years. (Äripäev, Page 11, March 16, 2017)
 
銀行,電子居住者の口座開設に慎重姿勢
E-residency project is stuck behind banks. Estonia’s e-residency program is stuck in the bottleneck: the plan to grow rapidly doesn’t comply with the conservatism of local banks to open bank accounts to the businesses of foreigners that do not have a tangible connection to Estonia. According to banks, it’s difficult for banks operating in Estonia to gather information about companies which are owned by a foreigner, and which are not connected to Estonia in any way besides its Estonian address. This includes a risk of money laundering, tax evasion and frauds. Head of e-residency project Kaspar Korjus hints that Estonian start-ups like Monese and Transferwise could be an alternative to banks in future for e-residents. (Postimees, Page 8, March 16, 2017)

Estonian start-up entered into a European cyber defense accelerator. An Estonian cyber defense start-up TitanGrid managed to enter into a European cyber defense start-up accelerator CyLon. 学費徴収ソフト,大学2000校が利用
An Estonian company is developing tuition fee collection environment. Dream Group OÜ is developing a payment environment Dreampay, which would facilitate the collection tuition and application fees for European universities. The company already has a service Dreamapply from 2011, which organizes student admissions. Board member of Dream Group, Lauri Elevant, commented that around 200 European universities currently use their software, and they have asked for such a product for a long time. The total cost of the development of this software will be 130 000 euros, 59 000 of which will be covered by Enterprise Estonia. (Postimees, Page 10, March 28, 2017)

British Airways started its Tallinn-London route today. British national airline British Airways will today start operating on Tallinn-London route, flying from Tallinn to Heathrow Airport. Skeleton will open a plant in Germany. The manufacturer of ultracapacitors Skeleton Technologies will open a new plant in Dresden, Germany on Wednesday. Daimler’s division of supercapacitors lies in the same building. Minister of Entrepreneurship Urve Palo (Social Democrats) will also attend the opening. CEO of Skeleton Technologies Taavi Madiberk said that Skeleton aims for a turnover of 150 million euros by the year 2020. (Äripäev, Page 2, March 28, 2017) An Estonian company opened a plant in Germany. Estonian company Skeleton Technologies yesterday opened its new plant near Dresden, Germany which will start producing details for the company’s high-tech ultracapacitors. Minister of Enterprise Urve Palo (Social Democrats) said at the opening ceremony: “Skeleton Technologies is an outstanding example of good idea and ambition meeting – if that happens money and talent are never an obstacle.” The total amount invested to the plant is 6.2 million euros – 50% of the cost was covered by German development bank. Estonia will place 105.5 million euros to entrepreneurship development strategy. Estonian entrepreneurship development strategy will this year contribute more than 100 million euros to Estonian economy this year, which will be spent on increasing the wealth of people by increasing productivity, stimulating entrepreneurship, and encouraging innovation. Funderbeam received a 2 million euro investment from Japan. Funderbeam, which is a market platform for early-stage startup investments, received an investment of 2 million euros from Japanese businessman Taizo Son’s investment fund Mistletoe. Together, they will enter to Japanese and Asian markets, Arcticstartup news portal reported. “Kaidi Ruusalepp is constructing a revolutionary startup support system. These days, startups struggle with fundraising. Thanks to Funderbeam’s blockchain-based stock marketplace, startups can overcome,” Taizo Son said on stage at Slush Tokyo, where the announcement was made. (Postimees, Page 13, March 31, 2017)
