Urmas Sõõrumaa is Estonia’s most influential entrepreneur in 2016. President of Estonian Olympic Committee and entrepreneur Urmas Sõõrumaa is the most influential entrepreneur in Päevaleht’s most influential entrepreneurs ranking with 23.9 points. Sõõrumaa was followed by casino entrepreneur Armin Karu (Olympic Entertainment Group, 23.1 points) and Tiit Vähi (Port of Sillamäe, former Prime Miniser, 21.2 points). トヨタ,新車販売1位に返り咲き
A surprise in car market. 1837 new cars were sold in November which is 18.4% more than in November 2015. Toyota was again the most popular car with 292 cars sold, followed by Skoda (215) and Renault (166). Toyota also leads the table of 11 months of this year with 3338 new cars sold. Estonian economic growth remained below Eurozone average in Q3. Estonia’s GDP grew by 1.3% in the third quarter, compared to the same period last year. Therefore, it remained lower than average GDP growth in Eurozone (1.7%). (Äripäev, page 7, December 7, 2016)

The State will create a digital city guide for presidency. The State will create a digital city guide on the basis of a map application for the time of presidency in the EU. The application will help people to receive information about Estonian culture, history and sights via smartphones. The application will be ready by June 15, 2017. 農産品の輸出減少,対日輸出は増加
Export of agricultural products decreased. The export of agricultural products dropped by 26% in September compared to the same period last year.  According to Ministry of Agriculture, the main reason for that is the record volume of grain export in September 2015. Export increased the most to Germany, Norway and Japan. The export to Japan increased due to higher export volumes of fish fillet. (Äripäev, page 9, December 13, 2016)
 
●エストニア製カメラ,宇宙へ
ESTCube team produced cameras for an ESA satellite. The team, that sent a small satellite ESTCube into space in 2013, introduced new space cameras at Tartu start-up conference sTARTUp Day. These two cameras will head into space along with ESA ESEO (European Student Earth Orbiter) satellite. After the development of these cameras is ready, the team plans to continue the development of satellite ESTCube2, the prototype of which should be ready by summer. Elisa signed an agreement to buy Starman. The Finnish telecommunications group Elisa has agreed with current owners of Estonian telecommunications company Starman to buy the 100% holding of the company for 151 million euros. The transaction needs an approval from the Estonian Competition Authority before it can take effect. This will be the 5th biggest business transaction in Estonian history. タリン空港,過去最多の旅客数の見込み
Tallinn Airport expects 2016 to be their best year. The Tallinn Airport is expecting to have the best year in history in 2016, as the number of passengers passing through the airport should this year exceed the record number of 2.2 million passengers recorded in 2012. Tallinn airport has served 2.1 million passengers in the first 11 months of this year. (Postimees, page 10, December 15, 2016)

Purchase power of Estonians is lower than the EU average. According to data by Eurostat, the purchase power of Estonian people is 71% of the EU average. Purchase power is the highest in Luxembourg (137% of the EU average) and the lowest in Bulgaria (53%). (Postimees, Page 10, December 15, 2016)
 
住宅価格,高騰
Prices are rising, but there is no bubble. Even though real estate prices have risen to the peak of this decade, both banks and real estate companies claim that there is no bubble. The housing index by Statistics Estonia has increased by 7.4% since last year. SEB economic analyst Mihkel Nestor said: “We are far from bubble. This can be illustrated by the fact that in 2006 we gave out 9762 building permits – which is more than twice the amount of this year.”(Postimees, Page 12, December 21, 2016)
 
電子居住者,2年で1万5千人に
E-residency project has been successful. 15 000 foreigners have become Estonian e-residents after the project was launched two years ago. They have created 1000 companies in Estonia. Every euro that has been spent on the project has brought back 43 euros. The government will allocate 200 000 euros for the project next year. (Postimees, Page 18, December 21, 2016)

An Estonian start-up received a 500 000 dollar investment. Wolfprint 3D, an Estonian company that focuses on virtual reality, received more than 500 000 dollars from crowdfunding platform Seedinvest. 豚肉と牛乳,買い取り価格上昇
Buying-in price of pork and milk increased. According to Statistics Estonia, 2563 tons of pork was bought in November, and the average buying-in price of pork has increased by 8.6% compared to November 2015. Buying-in price of beef fell by 3.8% and buying-in price of milk increased by 25.7%. (Postimees, Page 10, December 23, 2016)

スタートアップへの投資,昨年は減少
The amount of investments into start-ups fell by a third. Investments into start-ups decreased by 30% compared to last year. The total amount of investments into Estonian start-ups was last year 66.7 million euros, while the amount was 98 million euros in 2015 and 68.4 million euros in 2014. TransferWise received the highest amount of investments – 23.5 million euros. (Postimees, Page 10, January 11, 2017)
 
11月輸出:+6%,輸入:+7%
Both export and import increased in November. According to Statistics Estonia, the exports of goods increased by 6% on year to 1.1 billion euros and imports by 7% to 1.2 billion euros in November 2016. The rise in exports was influenced the most by an increase in the exports of wood and articles of wood and mechanical appliances, and the rise in imports by an increase in the imports of base metals and articles of base metal. The top destination countries of Estonia's exports in November were Sweden, Finland and Latvia, while export increased the most to Finland and Germany. (Äripäev, Page 2, January 11, 2017)
 
乳製品企業,日本などアジア市場に進出
Murakas: We should thank Russia for the embargo. Head of Estonian Dairy Association and E-Piim Jaanus Murakas claims that Estonian dairy producers have been successful in entering to new markets. Murakas says that E-Piim has been selling powders to Saudi Arabia and Korea already for a while, cheese to Japan since last year, and claims that the Chinese market will also open soon. According to Murakas, the whole Asia is imitating European consumption habits. As a result of the opening of Japanese market, milk price has increased to 33 cents per liter, which covers the running production costs. (Äripäev, Page 7, January 11, 2017)
