ライアンエアー,タリン発着路線を拡大
Ryanair opens new flight connections from Tallinn. Today Ryanair opens a new flight connection to Dublin and from end of March the airline will also start to fly to Barcelona, Manchester, Stockholm, and Düsseldorf. As of April, Ryanair will open also connections to Bremen and Frankfurt in addition to already existing London, Oslo and Milan flight connections. (Postimees, page 8, March 16, 2013)
 

●IMF:エストニアは本年3%成長の見込み
IMF: Estonian economy is balanced and has little risks. Head of IMF delegation to Estonia Alexander Hoffmaister said yesterday that IMF’s annual evaluation found that Estonia has achieved balance again and returned to sustainable economic growth. IMF mentioned as main risks to Estonian economy different developments in the EU as two-thirds of Estonia’s exports go to the EU. IMF cut its prediction for growth of Estonia’s economy for 2013 from 3.2 to 3 per cent. (Äripäev, page 9, March 19, 2013)
 

●ナルヴァ工業団地,外国投資1.3億ユーロ誘致の計画
Established Narva Industrial and Logistics Park expects to have € 130 million in foreign investments by 2019. The park has already been supported by Estonian state with € 3 million, while Russian businessmen prefer not to publish their contribution. One-third of the park is already covered with contracts. The project is supported by Enterprise Estonia that hopes to increase employment in the area. 46 per cent of Estonian eastern border crossing takes place via Narva border crossing point. ●Fortumo社,中国移動通信と取引
Tartu company Fortumo active in mobile payment business stands out thanks to its contract with China Mobile. Company’s founder Martin Koppel said this contract gave them a unique advantage as none of their global competitors have such a deal with China. ●2012年農業生産高:前年比10%増の約9億ユーロ
Most agriculture producers earned profits in 2012. In a year the value of agriculture production went up by one-tenth and according to preliminary data reached € 885.8 million, reports Agriculture Ministry. Raw milk export went up by 44 per cent, comprising 22 per cent of total milk production. (Postmees, pages 8-9, April 2, 2013)
 

●2012年Eesti Raudtee社(国有鉄道インフラ)営業利益:7,900万ユーロ,純利益:1,600万ユーロ
Estonian Railways’ business profit increased. Company’s business profit was € 79 million in 2012 and net profit € 16 million, while sales revenue increased to € 66 million. This increase was partially linked to one-time revenue from wagon sales. In 2012, 26.1 million tons of cargo was transported on Estonian Railways’ infrastructure. (Äripäev, page 13, April 2, 2013)
 

●2月失業率:9.9%
Unemployment rate in the Eurozone in February was 12 per cent of working age population, reports Eurostat. This figure corresponds to 19.1 million people. Estonian figure was 9.9 per cent. (Eesti Päevaleht, page 9, April 3, 2013)
 

●スタートアップ各社,法人向けソフトで海外進出へ
Small Estonian start-ups develop software solutions to local business clients and wish to expand abroad. These projects include Budget.to for construction companies to manage costs; Upsteem.com offering talent management and personnel evaluation; private company e-procurement solution LIITU.ee; and SportID for a web-based sport costs’ administrative environment. ●2月工業生産:前年同月比+3%
In February 2013 the industrial production grew compared to February 2012. According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2013, the production of industrial enterprises increased by 3 per cent year-on-year. The increase in manufacturing was 4 per cent. The growth in the production was most of all influenced by the increase in the manufacturing of electronic and wood products and among the branches of industry, it grew in the manufacture of metal and chemical products. In February, 73 per cent of the whole production of manufacturing was sold on the external market. Export sales of the manufacturing production grew 7 per cent and domestic sales increased 2 per cent year-on-year. (Äripäev, by Kaisa Gabral, pages 8-9, April 3, 2013)
 

●日本へ進出したGuardtime社(キーレス署名),中国でも顧客獲得
Guardtime, Estonian company offering timestamp service, had a second major client in China. Guardtime’s services will be now used by 55 million Zhejiang province(浙江省) residents. (Äripäev, page 2, April 4, 2013)
 

●JOIK社(自然化粧品),日本進出
Estonian nature cosmetics company JOIK reaches the Japanese market. Preparations for entering the Japanese market started already in the summer 2012, when the Plaza chain representative from Japan contacted JOIK. Company’s founder Eva-Maria Õunapuu said the Japanese market has great potential, but entering it is extremely complicated. She said that products must have something new and very high quality. JOIK’s turnover in 2012 increased 47.8 per cent year-on-year to € 606,764. (Äripäev, page 8, April 4, 2013)
 

●2月輸出:前年同月比-2%の10億ユーロ,輸入:同-3%の11億ユーロ
According to Statistics Estonia, in February, exports declined by 2% and imports by 3% at current prices, compared to February of the previous year. In February, exports from Estonia amounted to 1 billion euros and imports to Estonia totaled 1.1 billion euros at current prices. The fall in exports and imports was influenced by the significant decrease in trade with mineral fuels. (Äripäev, page 7, April 10, 2013)
 

●フィンランドTDR社(電子機器修理),本社をタリンに移転
The Finnish electronics maintenance and repair company TDR is quickly expanding its operations in Estonia after purchasing Efore's factory in Pärnu last year. TDR's employment in Pärnu has tripled while hiring continues, and in addition, the company's headquarters have moved to Tallinn. For the company it is logical to have headquarters close to the factory and of course costs are smaller than in Finland. TDR's Pärnu factory has 15 workers now. (Äripäev, page 3, April 15, 2013)
 

●財務省経済予測:本年GDP+3%,消費者物価+3.4%
Finance Ministry published its new economic outlook. It expects Estonian GDP to increase 3 per cent in 2013 and 3.6 per cent in 2014. Estonian economy is expected to be most influenced by growing internal demand and by quicker export growth. The consumer price index increase is expected to be 3.4 per cent in 2013.(Äripäev, page 9, April 5, 2013)
 

●イタリアNavionics社(電子海図),エストニアに開発拠点を移転
Navionics, an Italian company specialised in electronic navigation maps, bought over GuardTime leader. Company invests millions in Estonia under former GuardTime Estonia leader Raul Vahisalu’s leadership. Vahisalu said he has always been interested in the maritime field. Navionics founder and owner Giuseppe Carneval said they chose to expand in Estonia because of a low corruption level, favourable tax environment and employment act as well as Estonian state’s high interest in IT-sector. While the map production will stay in India, the technological part of business will be located in Estonia.(Äripäev, page 8, April 8, 2013)
