エストニア,昨年ユーロ圏で2番目の成長率2.5%
Eurostat reported that the biggest GDP growth in the Eurozone in 2012 was in Slovakia with 2.6 per cent. Estonia was second with 2.5 per cent. The GDP shrank the most in Greece.(Eesti Päevaleht, page 11, January 23, 2013)

2012年銀行貸出額:約157億ユーロ,起業家向けは22%増
Commercial loans increased in Estonia. While household loans decreased in Estonian banks for the fourth year in a row, the commercial loan volume showed a slight increase in 2012. Based on the Bank of Estonia's statistics, banks earned more than € 350 million in net profit in 2012, while entrepreneurs received 22 per cent more loans and leases than in 2011. In 2012 the total volume of Estonian commercial and household loans and leases was € 15.65 billion. The turnover of long-term loans issued in December 2012 was € 270 million, which is the highest figure of the past two years.(Äripäev, by Kaisa Gabral, pages 10-11, January 25, 2013)

Renewable energy constituted 14.9 per cent of total Estonian electricity consumption in 2012. It is 2 per cent more than in 2011, reported transmission network operator Elering.(Postimees, page 8, January 29, 2013)

エストニア,電気自動車の急速充電器普及で欧州一
10 per cent of quick chargers for electric cars worldwide are in Estonia, shows a report by CHAdeMO. Out of 1900 installed chargers, 521 are outside of Japan, reported KredEx. With its 163 quick chargers Estonia has the widest network in Europe.(Postimees, page 8, January 30, 2013)

2012年外国人による不動産取引:前年比+15%の2,300件
In 2012 foreigners made 2300 real estate deals, i.e. 15 per cent more than in 2011.(Postimees, page 8, January 31, 2013)

2012年エストニアのSwedbankの収益:過去最高の約2億ユーロ
In 2012 Swedbank Estonia earned its biggest profit in history with € 199.6 million, but the bank is losing its market share. While Swedbank’s profit in 2012 had almost 9 per cent increase, Nordea Estonia’s profit was € 48 million or more than one-fifth increase year-on-year. Real estate prices reached 2005 level. As in 2012, in 2013 real estate prices and number of deals are expected to continue to experience a stable growth, said SEB analyst Ruta Arumäe.(Postimees, by Gert D. Hankewitz, page 8, February 2, 2013)

E-business register reported that 8.5 per cent more businesses or 19,203 businesses were created in 2012. According to Justice Minister Hanno Pevkur this increase shows people’s optimisim about economic recovery.(Äripäev, page 7, February 4, 2013)

Forbes magazine ranked Estonia among the best countries for doing business. Forbes published 25 best countries in the world for doing business and placed Estonia 22nd, right after Germany. New Zealand was first.(Äripäev, page 9, February 4, 2013)

6月,電気自動車のレンタカーサービス開始
State starts introducing electric cars to masses in Estonia. In order to promote EVs, state starts renting a total of 24 cars in Tallinn and Tartu from summer 2013. The service will cost less than 10 €/hour and the vehicles include 16 bigger Nissan Leaf’s and 8 smaller Mitsubishi iMiEV cars. The car rent will be possible by smart phone. Bloomberg ranked Estonia as 31st in the world for innovativeness. Bloomberg’s ranking’s top three was made up of USA, South Korea and Germany. It was based on measurements of seven factors, e.g. R&D intensity and productivity.(Eesti Päevaleht, page 3, February 5, 2013)
