On 26th August, Ambassador Kitaoka, following his 1st visit on 5th December last year, made his 2nd visit to West Harju Municipality, which is located 50km west of Tallinn, the Capital City.
The purpose of the Ambassador’s visit this time is to attend the Investment Seminar “PALDISKI, CITY OF DIFFERENCE 2020（TEISTMOODI PALDISKI 2020）”
This seminar was hosted by Ms. Ester TUIKSOO, CEO of Paldiski Association of Entrepreneurs, who kindly hosted lunch for the Ambassador during his 1st visit.
Like the 1st visit, this 2nd visit also materialized thanks to such a kind invitation to Ambassador by Ms. Helen UUS, the Chairperson of Esonian NPO “MTÜ Diplomatic Relations Project”.
The Ambassador was escorted by two Embassy staff, Mr.Tomoya SHIGENARI, a Second Secretary in charge of economic affairs and Mr. Hiroshi TAKENAKA, Researcher.
The Seminar took place in out-door tent, and was opened by the speech delivered by H.E.Mr. Jüri RATAS, Prime Minister.
Many distinguished figures like H.E.Mr. Jaak AAB, Minister of Public Administration, H.E.Mr. Martin HELME, Minister of Finance, Prof. Tiit LAND, forthcoming Rector of Tallinn University of Technology, and Mr. Peeter RAUDSEPP, Chairman of the Board of Enterprise Estonia, attended the Seminar (only Prime Minister attended by video).
All day long, enthusiastic presentations and discussions were made on the importance of renewable energy, the importance of Paldiski as the industrial hub of the Baltic Sea, how to promote investment, and the corporate activities in Paldiski.
This Seminar turned out to be a precious occasion to learn a lot for the Ambassador.
Ambassador Kitaoka especially cerebrated Mr. Jaanus SAAT, Mayor of the West Harju Rural Municipality, for being so succesful in regional promotion engaging many local youngsters!
